For Parents/Responsible Adults
Understanding what counselling is and how I, as a professional, can help is a crucial step for both you and your child.
As a qualified counsellor, I am proudly registered and verified by the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy. I hold full civil liability insurance and an up-to-date enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) certificate, confirming my thorough vetting to work with children and young people.
In my practice, I prioritise your child's safety, needs, and wishes, including confidentiality. Maintaining privacy is fundamental in building and sustaining your child's trust, allowing them to feel secure enough to discuss personal matters openly.
My therapeutic approach includes effective strategies to help your child manage anxiety, stress, and challenging emotions. Our counselling sessions can focus on psycho-education, attachment-based interventions, and creative modalities like art and play. These techniques aim to empower your child, helping them feel seen, validated and affirmed in a supportive environment.
Adolescent - I see you ..
Counselling, often known as talking therapy, can sometimes feel overwhelming and daunting. It's completely normal to have these feelings. But remember, this space is dedicated to you—your thoughts, your experiences, and your journey.
Many of us have been taught that seeking support, especially through counselling, somehow reflects weakness or inadequacy. I want to gently challenge that notion. Seeking help is actually a brave and important step toward healing and understanding.
As someone who has been on a similar journey, I truly understand how difficult it can be to reach out when you’re feeling lost, hurt, or confused. You are not alone in this, and it’s okay to take your time. I want you to know that when we feel genuinely heard and accepted, our feelings can begin to shift, allowing for new paths and opportunities to emerge.
In our sessions, my role is to support you fully. You will set the goals and determine what changes you wish to pursue. I’m here to walk alongside you in this process without judgment and without directing you. Your voice matters, and everything you choose to share with me will be held with care and respect. While confidentiality is a fundamental part of our work together, I will also explain any exceptions clearly during our initial session to ensure you feel safe.
If you are under 16, please know that I will need parental or guardian consent to proceed. Your well-being is my priority, and I’m here to support you every step of the way.
